Qatar is planning to establish its first electric vehicle manufacturing plant, as it looks to join Saudi Arabia and the UAE in developing a domestic automotive industry.
Qatar-based JTA International Investment Holding is working with British company Watt Electric Vehicle Company to set up the manufacturing plant.
“Together with Watt, we will develop EVs engineered around local operating conditions and the region’s demanding climate,” Amir Zadeh, founder and CEO of JTA, said in a statement.
